Child Care Resource and Referral Consultant
The applicant will have their Early Childhood Education Certification, and a current License to
Practice. Experience working in the field of early childhood development is preferred and
accordingly, preference will be given to applicants who have training, skills and/or experience maintaining a resource library.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Able to work independently and demonstrate the ability to be organized and reliable with time management and keeping track of their schedule.
The applicant must demonstrate the ability to be organized and reliable with time management
and keeping track of personal schedules. Ability to work effectively with the childcare
workforce, childcare programs, families, community groups and agencies. Excellent knowledge
of Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, Child Care Savings programs such as: Affordable Child Care
Program, Child Care Fee Reduction, $10 a Day Childcare, Child Care BC New Spaces Fund: Create
New Spaces, Child Care Operating Funding etc.
Demonstrate physical ability to maintain a developmentally and age-appropriate resource library (includes toys, equipment books) and craft store, with the skills needed to keep the resources in exceptional shape such as: maintain inventory, stitching repairs on costumes/fabric, small hand tool use for construction and repair of equipment/toys, disinfecting of resources etc.
Assist in other duties as required, which could require outreach travels throughout the East
Kootenay's if needed.
Other Requirements
• Successful criminal record screening
• Must possess valid driver's license and have use of a reliable vehicle
• Cleared Driver's Abstract
• Membership with BCGEU
