Hello, my name is Lisa, I have been in the childcare field for years in various positions, beginning as a babysitter, nanny, respite worker, teachers assistant, swim instructor and disability worker. I was a montesorri preschool teacher for 6 years and now I am running an accredited dayhome for almost three years. I was inspired to join this forum not only as a change of pace but hopefully to connect with other childcare workers and get some inspiration in my field.

Hello! My name is Roberta (Bobbi) and I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator in Sudbury, Ontario currently working in a community based program that offers free programs to families. We also provide referral services to families when they may have concerns about their child’s development. In a second job I am also involved in a city run program that is evaluating the EQAO scores of children in designated “at risk” locations in the city currently in grade 5, seeing if the free programming we deliver to them weekly can have a positive impact on their EQAO scores when they take the provincial test in grade 6. I am confident that what I will be able to learn here will help all of the children and families that I serve. my skills with technology are not the best so please bare with me as I learn to navigate this system. looking forward to participating and learning in this community of practice.
