Guiding and Supporting Behaviour
This hands on workshop will leave you empowered with communication and deeper skills to support the school age child, program and community. We all have an innate need for connection, sense of belonging and worth. This workshop will support you with guiding their conscious choices and your own.
Workshop Presenter: Paula Milbradt
Paula Milbradt has over 25 years experience serving children from birth to adolescence. After fostering 4 boys, aged 9, 10 and 12; she began to support parents and educators with the important of healthy attachment and brain development. Paula has created meaningful workshops that help expand the Early Learning Framework and has designed her workshops to give tools and techniques that will allow educators the opportunity to feel as though they are facilitating and supporting health child development.
LUNCH: 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Vegetarian and Gluten Free options available though not prepared in a gluten free kitchen. Please notify during registration.)
AFTERNOON WORKSHOP: 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Beyond Pink and Blue: Understanding and Supporting a Range of Gender Expression in Our Programs
Many children choose play, clothing, activities and toys that challenge gender stereotypes. We will look at some historical influences on gender stereotyping and some ways in which we can honour and respect the exploration of gender expression in our classrooms.
Workshop Presenter: Christine Hibbert
Christine Hibbert is an Early Childhood and School Age Educator and an experienced facilitator. Christine has worked in the field of child care for more than 30 years, beginning her career as a teacher in England, before becoming Executive Director at Jericho Kids’ Club in Vancouver. Recently retired from Jericho Kids’ Club, Christine continues to be an involved advocate and passionate educator in the child care community.
