Webinar- Precipitation Education: Practical Ideas for Embracing the Rain with Children

Online Saturday October 26, 2024 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am

Do you want to feel more excited about learning and playing outside during the rainy months? Join us for a lighthearted and practical conversation about the opportunities, challenges and logistics of programming in wet, cold, and soggy situations. We’ll talk about how to shift mindsets about the rain, how to dress to stay warm and dry, play invitations involving puddles, potential inquiry studies that may emerge when being in the rain and more.

Living Inquiries:

Engagement with others, materials and the world.

Pathways:

Reconnection to the land, place.
Time for engagement.
Spaces, objects, and materials.
Suitable for students, parents, adult instructors/administrators, intermediate and experienced early care and learning professionals working with children of all ages, from infants/toddlers to school age children, including children with extra support needs.

Facilitator(s): Karen Begley

Karen supports and empowers educators to feel fantastic about the work they are already doing by making connections between their underlying values, everyday programming, and pedagogical theory. Her playful style makes for interactive workshops that generate new ideas and increase participants’ confidence and competency to bring practical and enriching experiences to the children in their care. To learn more about Karen, her work, and her thoughts on childhood, learning, and care, join her monthly newsletter list at www.natureplaystudios.com.
