This workshop will provide an overview of:
- Definitions & types of traumatic stress
- The Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES)
- The Core Story of Development – what supports healthy brain development?
- How traumatic stress during childhood may impact a child’s developing brain;
Brief overview of critical intervention strategies including the importance of promoting “felt safety” in the context of relationships and methods to support a child’s development of self-regulation.
