Children may be able to tell us that they are scared but often cannot tell us why. Sometimes it is only their behaviour that is indicating the existence of a problem. To many adults, children’s fears make no sense at all – but to the child the monster under the bed or in the closet is quite real.
We will examine common fears, the body’s physical responses to fears and some ways to respond to and support children when they are fearful.
