Description:
This workshop will provide a brief overview of Positive Behaviour Support as a framework for setting up meaningful and successful outings and interactions with children. Together, we will review evidence-informed supports and strategies that have strong peer-reviewed research support, to include all children in learning and care environments. Learners will walk away with details about how to set up the environments they work in, to ensure that children in their care will be able to participate and engage to their fullest ability.

Before you register:
- Westcoast offers interactive, live workshops as opposed to webinars or lectures. In an online environment this requires a reliable internet connection, an updated device and enabling the camera and microphone for the duration of each session. These are basic requirements to attend our workshops and to receive a certificate of participation so please consider this before you register.
- The workshop/course will take place via Zoom. A link for all sessions will be emailed to you a day before the workshop.
- Check your email settings and your spam folder.
- If you are new to Zoom watch the video How to Join a Zoom Meeting. You do not need to download Zoom to attend, but access may be quicker when logged in to Zoom. You can download Zoom for free.
- Join each session by clicking the link 15 min. before start time.
- Doors close 15 min. after start time.
- Workshops/courses are never recorded. If you miss a session, there is no way to make it up and you will not receive a certificate.
- A certificate will be emailed to participants who attend all sessions, after completion.
- Self reflection resources/materials will be emailed to participants at the end of the first session. This will count for 1 additional hour of independent learning on your certificate for a total of 4 hours.

Michaela Jelen & Janet Harder
Presenter Information
HMJ Coaching & Consulting is a team of 2 professionals, Janet Harder and Michaela Jelen. Janet and Michaela are committed to working with families, professionals, and service providers, providing coaching and training in early intervention supports, strategies, and models that are rooted in evidence-informed practice. Janet and Michaela have a great depth of experience working with children, families, service providers, and professionals in a wide range of home, community, and school-based settings. Janet Harder is both a Speech Language Pathologist and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. Michaela Jelen is a Behaviour Consultant, a doctoral Student, and has deep expertise in Positive Behaviour Supports. Both team members are certified Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) therapists and trainers, ESDM Parent coaches, and were part of a small team of Coach Trainers for the Parent and Child Early (PACE) Coaching Project led by the Universities of British Columbia and Alberta from 2017-2020.
