Join us for an interactive day exploring the connection between our inner and outer environments. To be effective change agents in our communities it is important that we take care of ourselves (Mind/Body/Heart).
We need to put on our own oxygen mask first and then we can be of service to others and the planet. Mindfulness-based practices are powerful vehicles we can use individually and collectively to enhance our own oxygen levels.
This interactive workshop will explore the tenets of Mindfulness and provide ample time for meditations, inquiry and gentle movement with a focus on the role of Social Emotional Learning (SEL). The Five Social and Emotional Learning Core Competencies by CASEL (The Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning) will be investigated. Once we have our own oxygen mask on we can share these tools with others.
No previous experience is necessary with movement. Beginners welcome. The practice can be done in a chair if preferred.
