Children on the autism spectrum may require accommodations, modifications, and supports that differ from neurotypical children in order to best experience and engage in the classroom. Often, with an ASD diagnosis, these children receive a support person. However, the children who are pre-assessment or waiting for assessment are left struggling without formal supports while educators try their best to fill in the gaps.
The inclusive classroom will give educators the foundational knowledge of an autism diagnosis, the implications for social emotional learning, and insight how to best support children on the spectrum in an inclusive manner.
This workshop is funded through the ECE Professional Development Bursary Fund.
As with all online sessions, participants must have their camera on throughout the session for verification of attendance.
