Curriculum Planning

During this workshop we will discuss what curriculum is and how curriculum has been traditionally practiced in early childhood education settings. From this understanding we will delve deeper into aspects of curriculum that will in turn expand on our capacity to view it as more than ‘what is done’ and work with/in it in ways that enriches the sense of belonging, connections to ourselves, others and the natural world, as well as the relational capacities. We will explore holistic curriculum and spatial atmospheres; routines, flow and rhythms, as well as objects, materials and designed circumstances.

Living Inquiries:

Well-being and belonging.
Engagement with others, materials, and the world.
Communication and literacies.
Identities, social responsibility, and diversity.

Multiple modes of communication
Interests and inquiries
Space, objects, and materials
