Offered by BC Cancer and endorsed by the BC Sun Safe Coalition, this training opportunity will provide participants with the latest information about skin cancer and ultraviolet radiation. Children are particularly vulnerable to the damaging effects of the sun, so participants will learn about sun protection methods to keep children sun-safe, as well as easy and practical ways to build sun safety into their daily routines at home or at child care. Participants will also learn about the importance of shade and how to conduct a shade audit at their child care centre.
Suitable for all early learning professionals and parents.

Breann is a skilled population health professional with over 15 of years experience in the health field. She holds a Master's degree in Population Health and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the field. Breann has worked with Vancouver Coastal Health and BC Cancer over the past 10 years in prevention and community development roles. In 2019, she started the BC Sun Safe Coalition and continues to chair this network, which aims to reduce UV exposure among children and youth.
