Expand your knowledge of self-compassion
Self-Compassion 102 builds on the learning of Self-Compassion 101. Now that participants have an introduction to self-compassion, we can go a bit deeper. In this workshop hosted by the BC Council for Families, participants will look at stress, overwhelm, burnout, and what leads us to these bigger breaks. As the saying goes: “You don’t have to have a breakdown to have a break”.
Through the practice of self-compassion, we will explore ways for participants to learn their warning signs of burnout. We will talk about expressing needs (including how we think we are doing this yet may not be), setting healthy boundaries, and through interactive exercises, will continue to build on our newly acquired skills.
We will also learn about “backdraft”, the concept that when we open ourselves to self-compassion we can experience and open ourselves up to old wounds. Participants will acquire strategies and tools to equip themselves for dealing with backdraft.

- Explore the benefits of self-compassion and how self-compassion can be your strongest ally for mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual support

Kate Toye is a Self Compassion Coach who weaves together mindfulness, wellness, somatic, and intuitive coaching, self-compassion, Compassionate Inquiry, and Internal Family Systems to support her clients in her private practice. She is a certified Compassionate Inquiry Practitioner, a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Gabor Mate, and is a certified Mindfulness, Wellness, and Somatic Coach through the Mindfulness Coaching School. Kate has a love of learning and continues to enroll in courses to grow her knowledge and the ability to support her clients. Her greatest teachers are her three kids. Self-compassion and compassionate inquiry have transformed who she is and how she is with her kids, her partner, her parents, and herself. Kate loves to share with anyone wanting to create a stronger relationship with themselves and their loved ones.
