How might we build and grow meaningful relationships with children that support their emotional development, while serving as their mentors, guides, and nurturers? How do we create a feeling of home for children in our spaces by providing a sense of rootedness, belonging and connection while honouring the whole child, and parents and caregivers as the first teachers of their children? Join Dr. Deborah MacNamara, Ph.D., counsellor, and author of Rest, Play, Grow in exploring the importance of adult relationships for children, how they develop, and how to nurture and grow them. This session will explore a holistic and research-based image of child development in the early years to help those that serve them navigate complex emotions such as shyness and separation anxiety as children learn a language of the heart.
