This two-hour workshop will introduce the principles of the World Health Organisation, (WHO) model for Psychological First Aid (PFA). Participants will have an opportunity to discuss and apply tips and tools for helping people responsibly in the aftermath emergencies, disasters or critical incidents. Developing skills to approach safely, listen
and link children and adults in crisis to effective supports and resources are the main objectives of learning PFA. “When terrible things happen, we want to reach out a helping hand to those who have been affected. Psychological First Aid is a humane, supportive and practical response to people suffering exposure to serious stressors
and who may need support. It is an approach to help people recover by responding to their basic needs.
