Early childhood education and care works best when it is linked to the real issues of people’s lives. The most important thing that we can do is to create a warm environment that recognizes, reflects and includes the enormous diversity that exists among people right from the start. Creating welcoming environments for LGBTQ2S+ families is both simple and complicated. During this workshop, we will examine our understanding of “family” and how we can ensure that all children in our care and their families feel a strong sense of belonging and acceptance for who and what they are.
