This workshop reflects a ‘back to basics’ approach to positively guide and nurture young children as they strive to make sense of their world and further develop their autonomy. Participants will explore aspects of pro-social theory, ways to further establish trustful relationships with children and families, and review recommendations outlined by the BC Ministry of Health and other leading research about positive guidance for young children. Participants will also have opportunities to share their stories and inquiries about how best to support young children by examining and problem-solving authentic case studies and scenarios that will encourage them to further practice some of the strategies discussed in this workshop.
Suitable for child care providers of children 0-5 years of age.
