2 Saturdays, 5 hours each day, 10 hour certificate total.
Children raised in settings which use an authoritative parenting/caregiver approach grow up to be healthier, happier and more resilient adults. This 2–day workshop is filled with practical, non–punitive and non–permissive techniques that allow for kind and firm relationships. Learn how to get to the core of children’s behaviour and create a positive environment.
- Learn the underlying motivations of children’s behaviours.
- Explore how to strengthen children’s problem solving skills and gain greater respect for themselves and others.
- Participate in role–playing and experiential activities and engage in group discussions.
Suitable for parents, students, adult instructors/administrators, novice and intermediate early learning child care professionals working with infant/ toddler, preschool and school age children.

Vesna and Sandy are experienced Early Childhood Educators, Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educators and staff members of the Vancouver CCRR at Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre. They have a particular interest in believing all children can learn creative cooperation and self–discipline with no loss of respect.
