Stress and anxious feelings are part of everyday life, though at times can become overwhelming and limiting. This workshop explores stress and anxious feelings in children and provides insights behind the cause and effect. We’ll explore a variety of practical strategies that child care providers can use to reduce anxiety and anxious feelings with young children. This includes building courage, reframing, scaffolding, managing expectations, routines, role-modeling, problem-solving, self-expression, calming strategies, physical environment and more. Educators will be provided a set of tools, including additional online resources, to increase their knowledge and skills in supporting the capacity of young children to manage stress and anxious feelings so they can grow and thrive at any age.
– This workshop will be held online through the Zoom platform.
– You will need access to a smartphone, laptop, tablet or computer with a camera and audio capabilities to join us.
– A link will be emailed to you the day before the workshop. Please click the link ten minutes before the workshop begins to join in. Further instructions will be included in the email.
– For safety reasons we will be locking the meeting at 6:45 pm, so please arrive early or on time to ensure you get in.
