Normal and Atypical Communication Development

This 2-part workshop will review normal and atypical speech-language and communication development in the preschool population. Particular emphasis will be placed on:
– Communication milestones
– Autism
– Stuttering/voice issues
– Augmentative and Alternative Communication
– Bilingual language development
– Where and how to access services
– Strategies to facilitate language development

Presented by Shari Linde, SLP
Shari is the director of Advantage SLP, a Speech-Language Pathology Office based out of Richmond with over 20 therapists. Therapists see clients in the Steveston office or in private homes, care facilities as well as via teletherapy. Shari has been an SLP for 28 plus years. She is on the registry of Autism Service Providers and has training in Hanen’s “It takes Two to Talk”, “More Than Words” and “Talkability”. She is also trained in Natural Language Acquisition.

Shari is on the Board of Directors for Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC). She was the Chair for SAC for the 2021-22 term.
