More than Felt Stories with Cheryl Song

Discover simple and practical methods to engage and hold children’s attention during story time without using felt pieces.  Learn a variety of techniques to make up stories with children and how to bring the story to life…  Learn to tell stories using materials such as a piece of paper, a napkin, and a water bottle.  Add some variety to your circle time with “Draw-a-Story”, “Fold-a-Story”, and “Colour-a-Story”.

Cheryl has years of experience facilitating different format and topics  workshops for different audiences, from lecture style to more hands-on and interactive workshop. Workshops provided are of diverse topics, from  cooking with children, to music and movement, and working with families. Workshops can be presented in English and Chinese.

Being in the field for the past 20 years, I know the challenges that ECE and parents and caregivers must work with, such as limited budget, multi-age  children, working with children with diverse needs and interests; I also know what activities and the preparation required to increase success and learning engagement. With these in mind, along with the goal of meeting the needs of the targeted audience, I carefully design my workshop focusing on practical, hands-on, economical, and engaging, that caregivers can easily do at their own home or family childcare or group childcare center.
