Métis Nation British Columbia Ministry of Education presents a workshop to understanding, identifying, and supporting Métis children and culture in early years programming. Through an interactive workshop, the facilitator will share information on Métis history and culture in Canada, understanding who Métis are, and ways individuals can connect.
Through cultural resources LISA will demonstrate how to incorporate identifying cultural items into early years programs and activities to ensure Métis and non-métis children learn more about the Métis culture. Métis children and families will also begin to see themselves reflected in the programming provided within their community. Throughout the workshop participants and facilitator will encompass and reflect the Métis core values while engaging in interactive, engaging sharing of knowledge.
**Workshops are presented live through Zoom. Participants must ensure to sign up with their correct email as unique workshop links will be sent out 24-48 hours before the workshop. Make sure you are using a compatible device and have a working internet connection. Participants must attend at least 1/2 of the workshop to be eligible for a partial certificate. Certificates are sent out approximately one month after the workshop upon completion of a survey.
