This workshop emphasizes current information on best practices for working with families. There will be a brief review of the parent and child care provider roles. We will review Family Centred Practice and how to be both a child care provider and also a family support. We will look at strategies on how to talk to parents in a friendly but informative and professional way that enhances parent-teacher interaction, and prompts parents to participate in their child’s early education and development.

Malgosia specializes in supporting children preschool to high school age and their ‘big people’ in a variety of environments including homes, schools, and child care settings. Malgosia addresses concerns associated with the daily challenges of caring for a child who requires extra support, including helping to make sense of difficult behaviour and supporting caregivers. Malgosia also provides support to caregivers raising children and youth who are living with FASD, from birth to 18 years of age.
