Everyone has a story to tell! Helping children tell stories about themselves and the world they live in is one of the most empowering things we can do for children. Stories are much more than factual retelling of an event; and they are much more than words. Stories can be found in the songs, actions, art, and interactions of children. They involve imagination, exploration, chance-taking, and problem-solving skills at the highest levels. In this workshop we will explore how to facilitate opportunities for children to tell stories as well as practical advice for capturing the stories as they unfold.

Cassidy is a librarian and educator, who has spent the last decade working in various educational library settings. Teaching ESL, tutoring, and as an early childhood educator assistant. She is a curious soul who loves learning and sharing her knowledge with others. She loves her family, cats and honeybees. When she is not working at Westcoast Early Learning Library, you can find her in her backyard tending bees or on a long walk in the woods.
