High sensitivity or perceptivity is a trait found in roughly 20% of the population, and these unique individuals provide perspectives that enhance our world with their deeply analytical viewpoints, highly acute pause and check systems, and big picture thinking.
Highly sensitive people possess a combination of traits in response to their environment and human interactions that causes them to absorb what is happening in their lives with greater intensity. Challenges connected to Covid-19 will affect a Highly Sensitive Person and child more acutely due to their perceptive nature. These individuals need special care in regard to dealing with stressors at this time.
In this webinar hosted by the BC Council for Families for Family Support Professionals, we will explore and further define the trait of high sensitivity and discuss strategies to help support parents and children who identify as highly sensitive, so they can continue to thrive despite the extreme circumstances we find ourselves in.
