This workshop will explore the Family Centered Practice as a philosophical foundation for working with families at child care settings. The Family Centered Practice is a systematic way of creating a partnership with families, treating them with dignity and respect, and honouring their values and choices in making decisions regarding their child’s development. The workshop explores practical ways of moving child care providers towards services that are more closely aligned with a Family Centered Practice principles. We will also explore how FCP can be linked to a wide range of benefits for both children and families.
