Exploring Math in the World Around You with Janice Novakowski
How can math be experienced in ways that are playful and connected to children’s lives? In this session, we will discuss key concepts in early mathematics and how they can be explored through math materials, loose parts, and in the world around us. Connections to learning math outdoors will be made with examples including experiencing math at the beach or in the forest and how different seasons bring new opportunities for thinking about math in the world around us.
