This workshop will explore the idea of creating tactile experiences for children with a focus on building and expanding multi-sensory awareness. Participants will be introduced to a variety of ways of developing and using materials to provide deep sensorial experiences and train the senses. We will focus on ways of introducing objects at hand with a focus on movement and aesthetics.
Participates will create a tactile board or materials.
Objectives:
Develop and increase material awareness.
Learn how to introduce tactile experiences.
Explore alternative ways of using the objects at hand.
Create a tactile board or materials in class.

Ana Vojnovic
Presenter Information
Ana is an ECE, Spatial Design Researcher and Consultant with an educational background in philosophy, education, art practice and currently interior design. She is engaged in an interdisciplinary based practice that primarily focuses on investigating and understanding the concept of spaces and elements that co-exist within them and the interrelationship between spatial design and daily living. Over the years, Ana has worked in different pedagogical capacities as an ECE, instructor and artist in residence; currently at one of UBC’s child care centres.
