We’ll explore how the set-up of the physical environment can enhance the invitations for children and teachers to connect and collaborate. We will explore spaces that can be moved and adapted according to the ways that people inhabit them. Let’s also consider nooks and crannies, heights, nature, softness and beauty.

After teaching in Brazil, Elaine found her passion educating young children when studying E.C.E. at Vancouver Community College. In the last 25 years, she has taken many different roles in the field of early learning, including teaching young children and adults in a variety of contexts. She currently teaches early childhood education at a local university and is an enthusiast of Reggio Emilia pedagogy. She received a Masters of Arts in Education from Simon Fraser University, where she is currently pursuing a PhD.
