Embracing Gender Diversity in Our Sites of Practice
“Embracing Gender Diversity in Our Sites of Practice” is an interactive and engaging presentation. Elliot uses a personalized, intersectional approach to discuss the culture of gender diversity and the use of intentional language to better include gender diverse children and families. He shares a compassionate perspective through personal narratives and will offer scenarios, practical applications, and thoughtfully directed dialogue to help prepare participants to embrace disequilibrium and tension when engaging in social change.
Elliot holds a BA in Child and Youth Care and has a background as a SN ECE with extensive experience in inclusive early childhood education. He has over 10 years of working in the field in a variety of roles and settings including as program manager for inclusive child development programs. Elliot has also spent over 12 years supporting trans and gender diverse children youth and families in various roles, including as a youth group facilitator and as a child, youth and family support worker.
