Early identification is the process for identifying, as early as possible, children who may need some support with their development. Early detection of developmental issues is essential to providing timely and effective intervention. While there is a wide range of ‘typical’ development, research shows that early identification of developmental or learning challenges promotes access to early intervention. In this workshop we will discuss typical development, what do we do when we see possible support needs and what will happen when a family is referred.
