Creating a Rich Sensory Environment
Infants learn through their senses: interdependent sensory connections are the infant’s building blocks for increasingly complex thoughts and concepts that unfold throughout childhood. Together we will journey through why this is a critical time in a child’s development and explore ways in which child care providers can enhance the infant’s opportunities for sensory learning: through thoughtful practice; using natural elements and with a variety of simple props and equipment.
Managing Risk Taking with Infants and Toddlers
Beginning with an image of infants and toddlers as capable learners who want to explore their world, concrete examples and illustrations will be shared, introducing child care providers to a variety of creative materials and activities with which to challenge this age group
