Practicing mindfulness with our children; helps children (and us) manage stress, create calmness in our programs and spaces,
improve our ability to pay attention and focus and provide children with skills for understanding their emotions and how to work with them. As teachers and parents, we have many opportunities to introduce young people to these practices. The most fundamental way we do so is through our own attempts to cultivate mindfulness: to be present, to pay attention, and to be aware of our own emotions and responses. We can also bring these practices into our programs, providing children with opportunities to pause, pay close attention to their experiences, and reflect.
In our session, we will practice simple ways to introduce mindfulness practices into your programs and life. You will leave with a personalized plan for your program.

Stacey Tucker and Dawn Armstrong
Dawn has been a teacher and youth coordinator for over 15 years. With a passion for building communities in classrooms and spaces with children she has spent the last 5 years training teachers on mindfulness techniques and creating empowered, curious, caring and fun spaces! Stacey has been an early childhood educator and has been working with children for almost 30 years teaching mindfulness and meditation in a myriad of ways. Stacey & Dawn joined forces professionally 3 years ago and created this workshop after people consistently asking them both, "How come your classroom always feels SO good?" "Your students LOVE you" "How do you do it?"
