This interactive provocation studio invites participants to think with stories, images, and questions from a collaborative inquiry between children and educators in Melbourne, Australia and Victoria, Canada.
ver the past year, children and educators in Melbourne and Victoria have been experimenting with digital technologies, including Facetime on iPhone, sound recordings, and Twitter, to share our encounters with a park on Wurundjeri Country and a forest on Lekwungen territory. Together, we wonder how exchanging our digital stories across continents might generate different ways of connecting to place with children. As we work toward responsive, accountable, and complex connections with place, we are interested in disrupting settler colonial understandings of children’s relationships with nature spaces in environmental early childhood education.
