During this workshop we will dive into: The First Peoples Principles of Learning from the Early Learning Framework (ELF), discuss the impact colonization has had on the way we educate our children, ways to challenge the colonial structure that has been placed on education and explore ways to decolonize our practices, our classroom and our selves. The time that we will spend together, exploring the shift in perspectives and working to move away from colonial practices, will allow us to disrupt and challenge how we teach the various truths in the classroom-and outside the classroom. It is important to identify who plays what role in a child’s life, and why each role must be supported to create a healthy community.
Suitable for all early learning professionals and parents.
