Presenter Information
Marianne Brophy is a lactation consultant (IBCLC, 1990) working with breastfeeding families, peer supporters, doulas, and health care professionals. She has a private practice and also facilitates a busy family resource centre-based breastfeeding and postpartum adjustment group. She is the recipient of the 2017 Catalyst of Change Award from the BC Association of Family Resource Programs. She is a part-time instructor in the UBC Faculty of Medicine Midwifery Program. She is co-author of the Breastfeeding: Making a Difference Courses for Health Professionals and “train the trainer” courses for clinical educators in four provinces in Canada. She was honored to teach the breastfeeding component for the BC Aboriginal Doula Pilot Program.
