This fun and interactive course will introduce you the basics of vocabulary for signing with a variety of people. Whether a child, a family member, neighbour, someone at work, or someone on the bus, by the end of this short course you will be able to have a basic conversation through signing.
You will learn the ABC’s, fingerspelling, general greetings and introductions, days of the week, numbers, foods, colours, feelings, and much more. In Signed language, gestures of the hands, the face and the body are used to produce the language rather than the vocal chords and mouth. The classes are fun and use practical and creative ways to allow you to practice and learn the signing vocabulary.
It is certain that this course will provide you with incredibly valuable skills which you will be able to use on a regular basis. Teaching assistants, early childhood educators, support people and anyone with non-verbal children will find this course incredibly valuable.
