Our sense of place in the world is more than what is outside our doors. Each part of our lives happens in places – places of nature, history, culture, emotion, and more.
– How can we observe and discover what place means to our children?
– How can we support learning in these places?
– How, as educators, can we become better facilitators by learning more about the natural and local history of this region?
In this workshop, we will look at what place means to children and to us.
This FREE workshop will include in-person learning and a guided outdoor nature walk with Chandra Wong, Museum Assistant – Penticton Museum & Archives. We will begin the workshop at the Days Inn with a nature walk along the channel. We encourage you to wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
We will be following COVID safety protocols as guided by both our agency policy and those of the Days Inn Conference centre, please bring a mask.
