Just like any area in your play space; block play has stages of development. In this workshop we will cover the history, stages and schematic play in its relation to block play. Knowing this will help you support children in their play and your exploration in pedagogical narration.

Kristi Schwandt studied Fine Arts upon high school graduation, Kristi had a multitude of different careers before finding the profession of ECE. Having ECE instructors who were a part of the first Canadian Delegation to Reggio, she learned responsive curriculum inspired by Reggio Emilia and never looked back. She currently is the ECE Facilitator for the City of Surrey, providing training and support for preschool instructors and continues to create more training modules inspired by Responsive/Inquiry based curriculum.
