This workshop is centered around understanding children’s challenging behaviour, and how educators can support them safely. We will focus on using proactive solutions and trauma informed strategies to preserve the relationship. In exploring the stages of crisis educators will learn to draw on various models to help them navigate difficult situations gracefully.
Victoria Smith is a Supported Child Development Consultant at Kinsight in the Tri-Cities. She’s a registered social worker with specialized expertise in working with children. She has been a certified meditation teacher for more than 15 years and previously owned her own business. She is a mother to a 5 year old daughter who has diverse support needs. Her insight is compassionate, relational and trauma-informed.
Jade Dallas is a Supported Child Development Consultant at Kinsight in New Westminster. Her background is in education with a specialty in teaching students with exceptionalities. She has been working with children for the last 10 years and is passionate about inclusion and equity in the classroom. Jade holds an ECE Cert, ECE Dip. BGs and is currently finishing up her MPEd.
